Mila is a Kiev-born singer-songwriter and poet from New York, whose Russian and English songs are filled with passion, longing, dreams, hope, and inspiration, and whose repertoire includes Russian, Gypsy, and Yiddish hits. Mila’s songwriting style blends influences from the legendary Russian Bard, Vladimir Visotsky, the world renown Charles Aznavour, as well as from the Russian gypsy and American pop music. Her singing style has often been compared to Edith Piaf’s and Marlene Dietrich's. Mila was born on September 22nd has been writing poetry since she was seven, and songs—since she was thirteen. Back in Kiev, before immigrating to the United States, she attended the famous Glier Music College, where she studies chorus conducting and continues her training in voice and piano. While at school, she was also taking private guitar lessons. Her music is a combination of Russian, French, and other European influences.

In 2006, Mila has founded her own gypsy-pop band, Milochka, that often performs at parties, clubs, cultural events, and schools across the country, and has often been praised for its upbeat and danceable repertoire that includes famous Russian Gypsy classics, such as "Ochi Chernie, " "Horseman, Don't Rush the Horses," and of course, "Those were the Days." Mila often adds her own interpretation to the famous Russian songs, and she partially translates many of them into English. Mila's band, Milochka, also performs Mila's numerous original songs in Russian in English that comprise a wide array of romantic ballads, Euro-dance tunes, as well as gypsy and Latin-influenced pieces with Mila's sharp lyrics, unique rhythms, and catchy melodies.
